Constructing a 40 Degree Angle using Compass and Straightedge Only: This construction shows angles AOF=40 degrees, BOE= 90 degrees, BOF= 140 degrees, BOG=70 degrees, BOH=35 degrees and BOI=17.5 degrees. Construct 40, with 90.

Then take the bisecting angles (20, then 10, 5; 45); or complementary angles (140) and bisect them again (70, 35, 17.5), etc.
